Cruise port transfers in Amsterdam with SilverDrive connect your ship with Schiphol, your hotel or any address in Europe: a chauffeur, a confirmed vehicle and a fixed price agreed at booking. We serve the Passenger Terminal Amsterdam, the Rotterdam Cruise Terminal and IJmuiden, with pickups timed to the ship's actual arrival.
Which cruise terminals we cover
The Netherlands has two cruise terminals that matter, plus IJmuiden for larger vessels, and we serve all three.
- Passenger Terminal Amsterdam sits on the IJ waterfront, close to the historic centre. The area is busy with trams and cyclists and vehicle access is tight, so a chauffeur who knows the pickup arrangements saves you a confused walk with heavy cases.
- Rotterdam Cruise Terminal is on the Wilhelminapier beside the Erasmus Bridge, with more straightforward vehicle access.
- Felison Cruise Terminal in IJmuiden lies at the mouth of the North Sea Canal, west of Amsterdam.
Typical transfer times
These are normal-traffic drive times. Embarkation days cluster around the same hours, so we plan backwards from your boarding window with margin for the A4 and A10.
- Schiphol to Passenger Terminal Amsterdam: 20 to 30 minutes
- Schiphol to Rotterdam Cruise Terminal: 45 to 60 minutes
- Schiphol to IJmuiden: about 40 minutes
- Rotterdam The Hague Airport to Rotterdam Cruise Terminal: 20 to 30 minutes
- Amsterdam city hotel to Passenger Terminal Amsterdam: 10 to 20 minutes
How a cruise terminal transfer works
Embarkation day
Flight tracking is included on the airport side, so a delayed inbound flight moves your pickup automatically, and airport arrivals include 60 minutes of waiting after touchdown. Your chauffeur meets you in arrivals and the luggage goes from the belt to the boot once. It is not handled again until the terminal.
Disembarkation day
Ships, like aircraft, do not always keep to schedule, and the cruise line's own disembarkation adds variability: passengers leave in stages, and baggage halls move at their own pace. Pickup times follow the vessel's actual arrival rather than the timetable. Tell us your disembarkation group and we plan around it.
Vehicles and cruise luggage
Cruise passengers travel heavier than most: large cases, garment bags for formal nights, sometimes a wheelchair. An E-Class or S-Class suits two passengers with a normal set of cases. The V-Class seats seven and is the right call when the cases outnumber the passengers. For groups, the Sprinter VIP seats 16 and the Setra coach 56, moved as one booking.
Pre-booked chauffeur or the taxi rank?
For a short hop from the Amsterdam terminal to a central hotel with light luggage, the taxi stand outside the terminal is a reasonable option. A pre-booked chauffeur earns its place when the timing is uncertain, the luggage is heavy, the group is large, or the route runs from Rotterdam or IJmuiden to Schiphol, where knowing the price before you sail matters.
