Coach hire in Amsterdam with SilverDrive means group transport from our own fleet with a professional driver: a 16-seat Mercedes-Benz Sprinter VIP or a Setra S 515 HDH coach for up to 56 passengers, with saloons and V-Class vans for the principals, one dispatcher, one point of contact and a price fixed at booking.
Group transport is where the vehicle choice decides the day. The wrong size costs money if it is too big and splits the group if it is too small, and a coach that cannot reach the door is no use at all.
Which vehicle does your group need?
Start from the passenger count, then adjust for luggage and access.
- Up to 7 passengers: a V-Class or the electric EQV is almost always better. It goes anywhere a car goes and costs less than larger vehicles.
- 8 to 16 passengers: the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter VIP usually wins on access and cost. It reaches hotel forecourts and venue entrances a coach cannot and moves the group as one unit.
- From roughly 20 passengers: the Setra S 515 HDH coach earns its place, or earlier when the group must travel as one unit: a delegation, a wedding party, a team.
Two things move these thresholds. Luggage and equipment push them down: sixteen people with staging equipment need a coach's underfloor space regardless of seat count. Access restrictions push them up: if the destinations sit inside a historic centre where coaches cannot stop, two Sprinters are not a compromise but the only plan that works.
The Setra S 515 HDH: luxury coach hire with real access
Our coach is the Setra S 515 HDH, the manoeuvrable member of Setra's flagship TopClass range. At about 12.5 metres on three axles, it is the shortest of the TopClass high-deck models, and its turning circle of under twenty metres gets it into hotel forecourts and historic city approaches that longer coaches cannot reach. The high deck gives substantial luggage space for cases, kit and exhibition materials, and the interior is built to a standard a client delegation can travel in without anyone apologising. A premium ride for up to 56 passengers.
What is included
- A professional driver, briefed on every pickup and drop-off point in advance.
- Access, parking and driver hours checked before the day rather than at a barrier.
- One dispatcher for the coach, the Sprinters and the cars, so all vehicles work to one schedule.
- A fixed price agreed at booking.
How group transport works, step by step
- Brief. Group size, luggage and equipment, dates, and every pickup and drop-off point.
- Plan. We match the vehicles to the group, check coach access at each stop, and plan driver hours. A long itinerary may legally need a second driver under EU drivers' hours rules, and if so it appears in the quote, not on day two.
- Confirm. Vehicles, timings and the fixed price in writing.
- Run. One contact handles changes on the day across every vehicle.
Where we operate
We work from Amsterdam: Schiphol arrivals, hotel-to-venue shuttles at the RAI and around the city, day trips across the Netherlands, and touring legs to Belgium, Germany and France. Since 1 January 2024, coaches over 7.5 tonnes need an exemption to enter Amsterdam's city centre inside the S100 ring, and passengers board and alight at designated coach stops such as De Ruijterkade Oost. The Sprinter falls below that weight limit, so we plan which vehicle goes where with you rather than promising door-to-door everywhere.
Who it suits, and when to look elsewhere
It suits corporate delegations, incentive groups, conference shuttles, sports teams, touring parties and wedding guests: groups where presentation and timing matter. Most groups that need a coach also need cars for the principals, and booking both with one operator avoids a coach company and a car company who have never spoken. If you need the cheapest seat for a school trip or a large budget tour, a standard coach operator will usually undercut us, and that is a reasonable choice.
