Mercedes-Benz V-Class

The Mercedes-Benz V-Class is the least glamorous vehicle in most chauffeur fleets and, for a large share of real bookings, the correct one. The moment a group passes two passengers, or two passengers pass four suitcases, the executive saloon stops being the premium option and starts being the impractical one. One V-Class costs less than two saloons and keeps the group in one conversation.

The body is the same; the layout is worth specifying. Standard forward-facing rows seat six or seven for airport runs and transfers. The conference layout, two pairs of seats facing each other with a table between them, turns the vehicle into a meeting room that happens to be moving, at the cost of a few seats. One practical constraint: the V-Class is tall, and many underground car parks and hotel entrances are limited to around 1.9 to 2.0 metres, so we check the venues before the day.
