A VIP chauffeur in Amsterdam should be judged on the driver, not the car. SilverDrive provides screened chauffeurs who sign confidentiality agreements, unmarked vehicles from our own fleet, arrivals planned around the exposed moments at Schiphol and private terminals, and one fixed price agreed at booking, across the Netherlands and Europe.
VIP is the most inflated phrase in ground transport. Any operator with financing can put an S-Class on a website; the car is the cheapest part of a VIP promise to acquire and the least predictive of how the journey goes. What distinguishes VIP work is everything the vehicle does not do: who is driving and what is known about them, what the driver will not say, what happens when the plan changes, and whether the operator can coordinate rather than merely dispatch.
What our VIP chauffeur service includes
Discretion, defined operationally rather than promised. In practice that means:
- Screened chauffeurs who sign confidentiality agreements.
- No photographs, no names, no routes, no schedules, and no recognition of a passenger in public on a later occasion.
- Unmarked cars, with no name board unless you ask for one.
- The same chauffeur retained across a multi-day booking, so the circle stays small.
- Flight tracking on every airport pickup and a fixed price that does not move.
How a VIP transfer works, step by step
- Brief: you or your assistant, office or security lead share the itinerary, the passengers and any sensitivities.
- Plan: we agree pickup and drop-off points, which door, which lane and how long the car can hold there, plus whether a name board helps or hurts.
- Confirm: the vehicle, the named chauffeur and the fixed price are confirmed in writing.
- Coordinate: where needed we liaise with the airport handler, the hotel and your security team, so you are not making four separate calls.
- Drive: the chauffeur executes the plan, adjusts quietly when it changes, and repeats nothing afterwards.
Arrivals planned around the exposed moments
The journey is rarely the risky part. Arrival and departure are, because both involve standing still in a public place at a predictable time. At Schiphol that means the VIP Centre for scheduled flights or Jet Aviation for private ones, with the car meeting the aircraft subject to the handler's procedures. Where neither applies, we plan the door, the timing and the route away from the front of the building.
Vehicles for VIP work
Most VIP work runs best in a car that draws no attention. The brief decides the car, not the other way round.
- Mercedes-Benz S-Class or E-Class for moving without being noticed.
- Mercedes-Maybach S-Class when the point is to be seen arriving: a premiere, a gala, a launch.
- BMW i7 and Mercedes-Benz EQS for electric travel at the same standard.
- Mercedes-Benz V-Class for an entourage, staff or luggage, often running alongside the principal's car.
Where we operate
We are based in Amsterdam, and most VIP transfers start at Schiphol or a city hotel. We cover the whole of the Netherlands and drive across borders to Belgium, Germany, France, Luxembourg, Switzerland and the UK, keeping the same chauffeur through a multi-city itinerary.
Who uses a VIP chauffeur
Typical work: Schiphol arrivals and departures, delegations and state visits with several vehicles moving as a group, event evenings handled by the hour, and high-profile private travel, which is mostly ordinary journeys made carefully. Bookings come from passengers, private offices, executive assistants and security teams.
What we do not provide
We provide the driving layer only: no close protection and no armoured vehicles. If your risk assessment calls for either, appoint a specialist security firm, and we will work alongside the team you choose. When a detail is present, the detail leads and the chauffeur supports: routes are agreed rather than chosen, and timings come from the team. If you simply want a comfortable, punctual car, our executive car service may be all you need.
