The quiet side of Amsterdam: Schiphol transfers, the North Sea beaches at Zandvoort, bulb-field season and a medieval centre cars cannot enter.
Most visitors book a hotel in Amsterdam and spend a fair part of their trip trying to get out of it. Haarlem is what happens when you do it the other way round: the capital of North Holland sits roughly 20 kilometres west of Amsterdam, about 20 minutes by road, with a medieval centre, two serious museums and the North Sea a quarter of an hour further on.
Haarlem's position is the reason people book it. Amsterdam is about 20 minutes east, Schiphol 20 to 25 minutes south-east, and the beaches at Zandvoort, Bloemendaal aan Zee and Overveen 10 to 15 minutes west. SilverDrive covers Haarlem daily with fixed prices agreed at booking, screened English-speaking chauffeurs and a fleet we own rather than broker.
