From the arrivals hall at Nice Côte d'Azur to Cannes, Monaco or a hillside villa, with a fixed price that holds in festival weeks.
Luxury excursions in Nice start with a chauffeur service that knows the Riviera roads: a reserved car, a professional driver and a price fixed at booking, for a day in the city or a tour of the hilltop villages and coastal towns of the Côte d'Azur. Your driver waits while you explore and has the car ready at the next stop.
The Promenade des Anglais curves along the Baie des Anges and is the city's signature walk. Behind it, Vieux Nice is a maze of narrow streets leading to the Cours Saleya and its flower and food market. Castle Hill gives the classic view over the port and the bay, and on the hill of Cimiez the Musée Matisse sits among olive groves, with the Musée Marc Chagall a short drive away.
Nice is the natural base for chauffeured days out. Èze, perched above the sea, and Monaco are each about half an hour along the Corniche roads. Saint-Paul-de-Vence, the walled village of artists and galleries, is a similar distance inland, Cannes and Antibes lie to the west, and Saint-Tropez makes a full day. With a driver handling the winding roads and the scarce parking, you see more and arrive relaxed.
Choose a Maybach or S-Class for the coastal roads, an electric BMW i7 or EQS for silent travel, or a V-Class for families of up to seven. Combine Nice with Marseille on a longer route.
Every excursion is planned around you: the chauffeur suggests the order of the stops, knows where the car can wait in villages with little parking and collects you exactly where you finish. The price for the day is fixed at booking, with no meter and no surprises, and our greet service can meet you at Nice Côte d'Azur Airport on arrival.
A private driver in Nice is a chauffeur and a car reserved in advance for your arrival at Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, your onward journey along the Riviera or a full day at your disposal, at a price fixed before you travel. SilverDrive provides English-speaking chauffeurs, flight tracking on every NCE pickup and hourly hire across the coast.
Nice is the front door to the French Riviera, and most people landing there are not staying in Nice. They are heading to a villa above Villefranche, a hotel on the Croisette in Cannes or a residence in Monaco. The airport is compact and easy. The coast beyond it is where public transport thins out, and where a driver who knows the A8 and the corniches earns the booking.
This page covers what a booking with SilverDrive includes on the Côte d’Azur. For terminals, the tram and private aviation in detail, read our Nice airport guide.
A private driver in Nice covers airport transfers, onward journeys along the coast and hourly or full-day hire. Each booking is one fixed price, agreed before you travel, with a screened English-speaking chauffeur and a vehicle from our own fleet.

Nice Côte d’Azur Airport (NCE) sits about 6 to 7 kilometres west of the city centre, on the seafront at the mouth of the Var. It has two terminals linked by a free shuttle and by the tram. Your chauffeur meets you inside the arrivals hall with a name board, takes the luggage and walks you to the car.
We confirm the terminal from your flight number, so you do not need to work it out. Flight tracking is included on every pickup, which means a delayed or early landing moves the chauffeur, not the price. Official terminal and access information is on the Nice Côte d’Azur Airport website.
Nice is one of the busiest business aviation airports in Europe, especially in May and through the summer. We position the car at the correct handling facility and coordinate with your crew or handler so the car is ready as the aircraft arrives. At home in Amsterdam we work with the Schiphol VIP Centre and Jet Aviation, so private arrivals are routine for our chauffeurs.
Most NCE journeys continue along the coast, and the A8 motorway is the spine of every route. These are realistic planning times in normal traffic; summer weekends and the May event weeks can stretch them considerably.
| Destination | Typical drive from NCE |
|---|---|
| Nice centre and the Promenade des Anglais | 15 to 25 min |
| Antibes and Juan-les-Pins | 25 to 35 min |
| Cannes | 30 to 40 min |
| Monaco | 30 to 45 min |
| Saint-Tropez | 1.5 hours or more |
Monaco has no airport of its own, so every air arrival for the Principality lands at Nice. Our guide to Monaco airport transfers compares road, helicopter, train and coach. For the longest regular run on the coast, see Nice to Saint-Tropez by chauffeur.
A Riviera day moves between the city, the hills and the next town along the coast. These are the places our chauffeurs reach most often from Nice:
The Riviera calendar concentrates demand into a few weeks a year, and those are the weeks when a driver booked early matters most. The Cannes Film Festival and the Monaco Grand Prix fall close together in late spring, MIPIM and Cannes Lions fill Cannes in their own weeks, and the Monaco Yacht Show closes the season in September.
During these periods, hotels fill from Menton to Saint-Raphaël and every car on the coast is spoken for. A SilverDrive booking confirmed in advance keeps the price agreed at booking. For festival and race schedules with airport legs, dinner runs and daily shuttles, we plan the whole engagement with one point of contact.
Vehicle choice on the Riviera comes down to passengers, luggage and the roads you will use. Hillside villa approaches are narrow and steep, and a week’s luggage for a family fills a saloon quickly.
| Vehicle | Best for on the Riviera |
|---|---|
| Mercedes-Benz E-Class | Solo travellers and short airport transfers |
| Mercedes-Benz S-Class or BMW i7 | Executives and longer coastal journeys |
| Mercedes-Maybach S-Class | Principals and occasions where the car is part of the arrival |
| Mercedes-Benz EQS | Fully electric travel along the coast |
| Mercedes-Benz V-Class or EQV | Families and groups of up to seven with luggage |
| Mercedes Sprinter VIP or Setra coach | Event delegations and corporate groups |

Booking a private driver in Nice takes one message, and the price is settled before anything is confirmed.
Book through the booking page or in the SilverDrive app, 24/7.
SilverDrive is a premium chauffeur company founded in Amsterdam by Joshua Faerber, operating its own fleet across the Netherlands and Europe. Clients who use us at home get the same terms on the Riviera.
Prices are fixed at booking, festival and race weeks included. Chauffeurs are screened, English-speaking and briefed before pickup. Flight tracking is part of every Nice Côte d’Azur pickup. One booking can cover the whole stay, from the arrival through dinners and day trips to the departure, and journeys into Monaco, Italy or further across Europe are quoted as a single figure.
See the other destinations we cover on the cities page.
The price depends on the vehicle, the distance and whether you book a single transfer or keep the car by the hour. SilverDrive agrees one fixed price at booking, including in festival and race weeks, and that is the amount you pay whatever the traffic does on the day.
For a quick hop within Nice, a taxi or an app is often enough. A private driver is the better choice for onward journeys to Cannes, Monaco or Saint-Tropez, for groups with luggage, and in event weeks, when the car is confirmed months ahead at a price that cannot surge.
The tram reaches central Nice in about 30 minutes and suits light travellers. For hotels further along the coast, a pre-booked chauffeur is the practical option: about 30 to 40 minutes to Cannes and 30 to 45 minutes to Monaco in normal traffic, with luggage handled once.
Yes. Hourly and full-day hire keeps one chauffeur and one vehicle with you, which suits villa viewings, business days at Sophia Antipolis, or a coastal day taking in Èze, Villefranche-sur-Mer and Monaco. The price for the block of hours is fixed before you set off.
As early as your dates are known. In the late-spring event weeks, hotels, cars and drivers along the coast are committed months ahead. A booking confirmed early with SilverDrive keeps its agreed price, while anything arranged late competes with the whole Riviera for the same cars.
To book a private driver in Nice, send your flight, dates and destinations through the booking page or the SilverDrive app. You receive one fixed price before anything is confirmed, and a chauffeur waiting in the arrivals hall when you land.
